When God allowed Grace Bible Church to purchase our current building in early 2022, we knew it would need a major facelift! The first priority of Phase 1 was to beautify the interior, especially the sanctuary and foyer. Because of your generous help and giving toward these projects, we quickly moved into additional improvements. Lighting, insulation, carpet, paint, air conditioning, ductwork, and hardware were upgraded throughout the facility. We also resurfaced the parking lot, added furniture in the foyer, and hired an architect to provide artist renderings for Phase 2.
After seeking input from multiple key individuals, we have chosen to now focus on the front of the church that faces White Lane. This will involve a new exterior look and extending the roofline out with decorative gables, which will also hide the rain gutters. We will replace the roof sheeting and add more solar panels in order to steward our finances wisely.
Rock columns with lighting accents, a concrete walkway, enclosed wrought-iron fencing and low-maintenance landscaping will add beauty within reasonable expenses. We will then repave the front parking lot and change the marquee sign. Each of these portions of the project can be done independently as funds are received.
Lord-willing, Phase 3 will include a courtyard between the sanctuary and the Activity Center. This will include a large pavilion keeping with the Craftsman theme on the front. We will raise the remaining two AC units and create a covered walkway from the Main entrance (southwest) to the Staff entrance (southeast). In addition, a new playground is to be built on the east side, along with seating areas among the planters, stamped concrete, and lighting. If possible, a roll-up glass-paneled door will open up from the Activity center to the courtyard.
Phase 4 will involve the extension of an open-spaced foyer for the Main entrance that leads to the parking lot. A similar design with columns will be used to tie-in the west entrance by the gate, and we will hopefully install a cross on the top of the building. Although some of these details may need to change as we progress through the phases, the artist drawings present a desired concept for the final outcome.
